Virginia, a young Nicaraguan migrant, escapes from her captors and ventures into the Mexican desert on a full moon night. After falling into an animal trap, she is rescued by Aurora, a sheep shearer, who takes her to her ranch. As they fall in love, they must confront the hostilities of an old masculine world, while Virginia completes her transformation into a nahual woman.
