Ema and Borja live on the shores of remote Lake Pirihueico in southern Chile, a place as fascinating as it is dangerous. Since their son drowned, they have been living separate lives: while Ema seeks comfort in Daniel, Borja takes refuge in alcohol, violence, and firearms.

The film follows a judge investigating the death of a Mapuche boy in 1960, after the largest earthquake and tsunami ever recorded in Chilean history, uncovering the possibility of human sacrifice.

1992, Chile. Inés parents are away on business and she is left in the care of her grandparents, who own a hotel at the foot of a ski resort. Inés befriends Hanna, a European skier who has come to train in Chile. One night, Hanna disappears. The process of her search will unveil a series of hidden situations.
