A burglar-safecracker Sasha breaks into a house where he witnesses a crime: the owner of the house, Chernov, has killed his wife. Chernov begins to pursue the escaped witness. Meanwhile, Sasha has to make it to his son's party, because the future of his marriage, which he is trying to save with all his might, depends on it.
