An anxious New York law school dropout stumbles into a job babysitting his psychiatrist's three granddaughters and falls for the girls' mother, an actress in a rocky marriage.

A pair of enemy soldiers stationed on a remote border in a vast featureless desert descend into a state of profound disorientation after forgetting which side of the border is which.
