Seo-yeon, a promising high school hurdler, trains tirelessly and dreams of joining a professional team. When her father, a truck driver, suffers a stroke, she borrows from a relative for her father's medical expenses, pledging to repay the loan once she joins a professional team. When that falls through, she must make a fateful choice.

Children in "The Village" go on a pilgrimage when they come of age. Daisy wonders why some of the pilgrims do not return. Daisy heads to "The Origin", a term used by the village people to refer to Earth, to find the missing pilgrims and discover the secrets of her village.

Hyun-jae, a 16-year-old escaping her abusive father, manipulates Hae-in, a woman searching for her missing daughter, into taking her in as a replacement. Over the summer, Hyun-jae bonds with Hae-in, finding peace through her love for singing, but becomes obsessed with becoming Hae-in's new daughter. When Hae-in learns her missing daughter may have been found, Hyun-jae, despite her fears, makes a selfless decision to accompany her, realizing she can't replace Yun-seul.
