Girl Beast is a psychological drama with a magical and heightened reality, that tells a Lolita story from Lolita's point of view. Sara is a girl beast, an object of desire and a being of desire. The story is adapted from Cecilie Lind’s novel with the same title. It balances between self-assertion and self-destruction. Loss and liberation. Powerlessness and power.

The two directors have filmed Troels for 4 years, capturing all his ups and downs, the defining moments, both the hilarious and the sad. This material will be combined with Troels¿ video diary where we get even closer, and animation that will bring life to Troels¿ text and inner universe in a compelling and humoristic way. The animation is done by the artist Carl Krull whoose very distinctive style matches Troels¿ story and personality, combining darkness and humor, the grotesque and the beautiful. It will be subtly integrated into the filmed material, at times taking over completely. The story of Troels and the visual approach melt together.

In his debut as a documentary filmmaker, Morten Meldgaard tells the story of freedom fighter Kim Malthe-Bruun. Through excerpts from Kim's letters and diaries, the memories of those he left behind, and selected contemporary film footage from the places Kim describes, the film depicts a series of precisely sensed moments in the journey of an unusual young man through life toward an all too early death. The film is a human story about love, joie de vivre, heroism, powerlessness, and grief, and it provides insight into how a country's history affects the fate of individual families and individuals.
