Despite the war, school life continues in Ukraine, with pupils and teachers striving to continue learning even under constant threat. The film is a mosaic of the everyday lives of teachers and students from different corners of Ukraine.

Twelve-year-old Kir is travelling to a sanatorium in West Ukraine alongside his mother Olga. Surrounded by Carpathian mountains and with new unexpected acquaintances in their lives, each deals with a family trauma and tries to overcome an unresolved grief—the boy’s father, a Ukrainian Armed Forces soldier, went missing in the frontline.

Even as her nation battles for survival, Olha Stefanishyna, - a young minister - faces the monumental task of securing her country’s future in the EU, giving meaning to that very survival when peace returns.

Khimprom was once among the largest fertilizer producers in the Soviet Union. The chemical plant went bankrupt, leaving a toxic legacy in its wake. A phosphogypsum stack, known locally as the “White Mountain,” stands as the silent guardian to an obscured industrial past, while simultaneously offering refuge to an emerging ecosystem of thriving urban wildlife. The film unravels hidden histories of agricultural chemical production and the unexpected natures that emerge from post-industrial landscapes.

Men on the streets get chased by stares. Someone’s walking a chihuahua, someone’s out jogging, but everyone’s uneasy glances are fixed at Petro and Andriy — recruitment officers inspecting military documents, holiday or not. When the officers encounter the freelance IT guy, Sashko, the young man has two requests before he’s taken away: that they stop by the store so he can buy food for his cat, and that he is allowed to bless his Easter bread.

Based on diaries and photographs found in the houses destroyed during the Russian war against Ukraine, the film captures the stories of Mariupol, including that of the director’s family. It centers on the value of freedom and human life itself over the nonsensical statements repeated by totalitarian regimes, as witnessed throughout the history of the Azovstal plant.

Taiga, 1930s. A Ukrainian aviation engineer escapes the death train to the Gulag and is taken in by a family of tiger catchers in the wilderness. He falls in love with the hunter girl he has rescued from an angry bear, but the regime will never leave him alone.

Ukraine, three years post-war. A veteran turned coach safeguards his players against the potential perils of AI implants. His goal: lead his team to Paralympic victory. But when his son’s health deteriorates, he’s faced with the challenging task of addressing the consequences and redefining his purpose within a rapidly changing world.
