The story of 16-year-old Janek, who, during a visit to his grandmother Melania's house in Toruń, befriends the teenage Zuza. The plot is set in the climatic period leading up to Christmas. Against the backdrop of a magical Christmas atmosphere, the characters face complicated family relationships, youthful dilemmas and difficulties in communicating with loved ones.

Actress Olga's political idealism and hopes for a better tomorrow are put to the hardest test. The authoritarian, omniscient communist power decides to break the woman when her father is hospitalized and fighting for his life, and her husband is in custody. Olga must find herself in a new situation and make an impossible choice.

Excluded from a religious cult, Jonasz wants to release his mother from the hands of the organization at all costs.

When Mzia was younger, and Georgia had just gained independence after the collapse of the Soviet Union, she fought as a sniper against Russian aggression in Abkhasia. Now in the autumn of her life, she manages an elevator in a Brutalist-style apartment block in Tbilisi. The elevator is there to serve the residents, but others can use it to access a labyrinthine construction and skybridge leading to a higher part of the neighborhood.
