The film goes on to tell of the group's actions on the streets of Rio de Janeiro during the beginning of the 80s when they irritated the police with their daring robberies, as well as portraying the surprising love story between William and Tereza. The narrative weaves its way between the intimate conflict and the spectacular assaults and escapes.

A family with financial difficulties has a brilliant idea: to make their daughter Lindinha get pregnant of the famous singer Ivan Cláudio to inherit a lot of money and get them out of the choke. They plan the right day that the girl should go out with the star and begin to follow his performance schedule. Composer Gilberto Gil accompanies filmmaker Andrucha Waddington to the Northeast of Brazil. Among the rural communities in the region, Gil and Waddignton participate in the Catholic celebration of Saint John's Day with music and dance. Waddington also analyzes the suffering of the population trying to survive through agriculture in difficult terrain.
