The Italian-born French designer and manufacturer also designed aeroplane engines and was no stranger to tragedy: Bugatti’s son, Jean, was killed on 11 August 1939 at the age of 30 while testing a Bugatti car near the family’s factory HQ in Germany.

Follows the personal and professional evolution of Giorgio Armani, who passed away in September 2025, aged 91, and is widely regarded to be among the most influential designers in 20th and 21st-century fashion.
