In a crumbling Indian town, three retired men stage a protest against machines taking over human jobs, by pretending to be household appliances.

Radha is around 30 years old and lives in a palace with her husband and kids. At first sight, it could seem like a placid life, but the truth is that Radha feels like a prisoner, trapped in a tradition and in a role as a woman that she can't handle with happiness. The well of death (or Maut ka kuan) is an incredible mix of acrobatics and sheer engine power, where the brave defy gravity and drive cars and bikes on the walls of a wooden pit. These arenas are a popular attraction at travelling fairs, where the tickets are cheap and the crowds are plenty. Viewers watch the action from a metal platform above the pit, while the magic unfolds beneath them—the riders, the cars, the bikes, the lights and the noise.
