A young waitress, Dana, works in a roadside motel. She longs for the big, distant world, for beautiful things, and perhaps even for love. But her life is filled with various short-term relationships, her lover is a passing truck driver, a rich, elderly stranger, and random acquaintances who give her gifts. The girl does nothing to fulfill her dreams. Coincidence brings a group of students to the motel, and one of them, Martin, takes a liking to the waitress. A relationship develops that could perhaps lead to sincere love, to the fulfillment of her wish for a new life...

In this classic story by one of the world's best-loved and acclaimed storytellers for children, the man in the moon looks down on the happy, dancing people on Earth every night, wishing he could join them. He hitches a ride on a passing comet, but quickly finds himself thrown into jail by people who see him as an invader, rather than a friendly visitor. The Moon Man, however, has a most unusual - but perfectly logical - means of escape, and sets out to make his way back home.

During socialism, Konzum was a chain of grocery and general stores, but it was also a place where unexpected events took place after dark. In the poetic interlude between the last and first customers, between dusk and dawn, herring and coffee come to life with stories from faraway places. The mundane everyday routine is transformed into a frenetic swarm of ships, conveyor belts, machines, and human hands working collectively to supply goods.

In stop-motion animation, a wardrobe moves through the countryside. It arrives in a house, a child's voice recites Lewis Carroll's "Jabberwocky," and various objects, such as toys and dolls, move about, disintegrate, and play out archetypal scenes. Like Carroll's verse, the images are at once familiar and unfamiliar. A child's play suit, hanging in the wardrobe, becomes the adventure's protagonist.

He stops a charming young hitchhiker and she lures him to the water by the forest. In an unexpected moment, she disappears with his wallet, clothes and car. The director and his driver must continue on foot. Meanwhile, the clever lady is already standing on the road again, looking for the next victim... A charming "musical ballad" based on verse dialogues parodying K. J. Erben's ballads and well-known songs.
