Denis Bokuradze, director of the Gran chamber theatre from the provincial Volga city of Novokuibyshevsk, is eagerly awaiting the opening of the new stage. For the city of chemists and oil workers, this will be the first real city theatre in its history – Novokuibyshevsk has never had its own theatre building before. Construction takes up all the director’s free time from work on performances, distracting him from rehearsals, taking away his health and attention. Not everything is going smoothly: the builders are missing deadlines and at some point it seems that the construction may stop altogether. The director is trying with all his might to prevent this. At the same time, he is releasing a premiere, preparing for new productions and solving a host of everyday, organizational and creative problems that arise daily in the team and make up the life of a chamber theatre…
Olga is a native Pomeranian, a candidate of historical sciences and a mother. Her dream is to create a Lighthouse Museum on Mudyuga to restore its status as an island of hope. After all, for two centuries the “White Tower” and “Black Tower” lighthouses were symbols of salvation for sailors. However, the island's dark past (Russia's first concentration camp, 1918–1919) and the modern emphasis on tragedy overshadow the bright history of the lighthouses and their keepers. Olga is sure: the museum will harmonize the memory of Mudyuga and show children that darkness can be overcome with light. Despite the bureaucracy, the disbelief of those around her and the status of lighthouses as objects of the Ministry of Defense, she studies, looks for exhibits and like-minded people...

A creative team of young people comes to the Soviet porcelain factory in the small town of Sysert, who, by creating a creative laboratory at the factory, try to revive its fading production and update the factory's products. But the team has a conflict with the factory workers, which leads to unexpected consequences. The project hangs up, the factory changes its owner, and a former member of the creative team becomes the new director. Will it be possible to revive the production?

Stepan goes hitchhiking deep into Udmurtia to sing a song recorded almost a century ago to those who might remember it. Otherwise, the song, as well as the memory of it, will disappear forever.

National costumes, dances, and belief in shamanism are shown. The film calls for the appreciation of cultural heritage and strengthening the connection between generations.
