Duyung tells the tale of a young man named Jimmy who has this habit of taking care of the environment. He also has a weird habit which is not well received by the other villagers. Jimmy befriends Orix an apeman species. Quietly he developes this feeling for Aspalela the daughter of Tok Mudim the leader of the villager.

Not wanting to give up, the two love birds eventually cooked up a devious plan where they tricked their parents into believing that they are joining a "family adoption program", where Aniq will stay in Amelia's family for some time and vice versa for Amelia to Aniq's family, in hope of winning over the hearts of their potential in-laws. This is, of course, where the fun begins...

But, with their patience and determination they were finally freed and manage to make it for the audition. BUT..... Will they ever get to participate and will they fulfill their dreams? Dian (Lisa Surihani), a sweet and naïve blogger, travels to Istanbul in hopes of convincing her medical student boyfriend Azad (Tomok) to propose to her.
