Once upon a time there was a woman who had three daughters: the eldest had three eyes, the middle one had one eye, and the youngest had two eyes. The woman first wanted to many off her two elder daughters, therefore, she rejected the suitor of the youngest one. Nevertheless, with the help of the magic goat, the youngest daughter marries the young man she loves.

The stepmother sends the hard-working girl to serve somebody. After a year she returns home with gold, silver and other treasures. As the bad-hearted woman sees this she sends also her own daughter to serve somebody, but she is lazy therefore she returns home in thorn and bloodstained clothes.

The son of a poor man allows their three piglets to graze at the foot of the King's garden. The princess likes the piglets. The boy refuses to accept money for them, and asks the princess to pull up her dress. One day the boy hears that the princess will marry the suitor who can find out where she has distinguishing marks on her body.

Only the youngest one of the poor man’s three sons can protect the grapes because he gave food to the frog. The frog repays his help with three magic horses. These horses help the boy to win the princess’ hand.

The poor miller will be made rich by the water fairy if the miller gives her that ’living creature’ that he has not got at home. But this ’living creature’ is just their own child.

Matthias, the famous and righteous king of Hungarians, orders a shepherd to his palace to play a joke on him, and to reward him afterwards. The guards only let him in after he promises that he will share the present with them.

The smallest son of the king has to find a bride for himself in the forest. But he finds only a kitty cat. The cat makes a bouquet of flowers at first, then embroiders a handkerchief with gold. When the king's son is about to introduce the cat to his father, it turns into a beautiful princess.

During a tour of his country, King Matthias the just, comes across a sign in a village: The judge of this village does not have a care in the world! Well, the King gives him an assignment, saying if he does not solve it, he will be beheaded. The judge, with the help of his daughter fulfils the assignment and the King generously rewards her.

With the help of the magic fox, the youngest prince obtains the rejuvenating bird for the old king and wins the hand of the princess.

The fox fools the wolf three times. At first he tells the wolf to place his tail in the icy lake. Its tail freezes, and the wolf has to leave it behind. Then the fox arranges a beating for the wolf in a village. Finally, he makes the wolf carry him a long way, and mocks the poor animal whom he caused all these problems.

Once upon a time a poor widower gets ill and dies – but she cannot leave anything to her daughter. The daughter leaves home to beg, but for no good, nobody gives her anything, they rather send her to work. However, the girl was very lazy – she rather tried to get ahead with her shrewdness. She also tricks the king, who sells his castle to the person who does not bargain a bit.

A sly fox takes advantage of the well-meaning people. He asks a farmer to permit him to stay overnight, and he tells the man that there is a goose in his sack, although it is only a rooster. He eats the rooster at night, and raises hell in the morning, saying that his goose had been stolen. To make up for the loss, the farmer gives him a goose. The fox repeats this trick several times.
