‘Tunisia. A word I have trouble articulating, when I want to tell it to my son.’ Dhia, a 29-year-old filmmaker, left Tunisia after having taken part in the Revolution. Exiled to France, he’s worried about transmitting his stuttering to Elia, his two year old son. In his pursuit to overcome this challenge, Dhia embarks on a journey of hypnosis and speech therapy sessions. Yet, as these sessions unfold, it is evident that the issue isn’t managing a fluent speech so much as figuring how to talk to Elia about Tunisia, his home country.

Filming every aspect of this covertly lethal mineral, from its molecular structure, and its industrial uses to its removal attempts, with a distinctively artistic and highly inspired cinematic language, the film constructs a mysterious cinematic landscape as unfamiliar as it is entrancing. Sarah del Pino, a multi-faceted and restless visual artist, delivers a film that defies every label but opens itself up to a wide range of interesting fields, steering thoughts and senses to unpredictable, prolific paths.

Carmen's life has been a quixotic comedy; surviving the war, becoming a nun, getting divorced in a conservative society, and having numerous lovers, always defying the rules. Now, at 86, she is planning her suicide. The film follows her final days, exploring her bond with her adopted son, as well as her journey to face death on her own terms.

In a recording studio, five mothers read the testimonies of other anonymous mothers and open up, laying bare their regret about motherhood. On an imagined island, these five mothers are locked away in an open-air prison. They are under surveillance and forced into hard labor.
