The Mupfer gang is again forced to admit defeat by the Schmutzer gang, and the Mupfers then begin to stir up trouble. If the bosses - Meier and Ferri - do not come up with a brillant idea soon, they will be toppled. Ivonka Pivonka, a 12-year-old girl who is inclined to snoop, is on the trail of three robbers of postal money transports. Unfortunately, Ivonka is more curious than she is careful. After being caught, she is locked up at gentle-natured Kitty's apartment. Meier and Ferri read about Ivonka's disappearance and decide to help her escape. With the help of Liese, Ivonka's best friend, and Alice and Aline, two elderly ladies, they begin to track down the postal robbers.

The disabled ex-soldier Andreas Pum lost a leg for emperor and father land. After leaving the army he receives a license and a drehorgel. One day he gets into a controversy with a welldressed gentleman, disturbs the public order, and hits a policeman. Andreas Pum goes to jail, loses his license and becomes toilet guard in the Cafe Halali after his release. Only at the moment of death he recognizes that he was always too decent and too obedient.

Georg, who is happy with his job as a scientist, with his loving wife and with his three children, hears one day that an accident has happened in a chemical plant nearby. All of a sudden, he finds himself face to face with one of the victims. The man, whose face has been eaten away by the sour gas that escaped from the plant, is staring at him in despair. The sinking of the Lucona was a long-planned insurance scam and became the biggest scandal in Austria's post-war history, as high-profile managers, mafiosi and ministers were involved in the case.

In 1939, after barely escaping the Nazis, a Gypsy family returns to Switzerland only to be torn apart by racial persecution in the benign guise of children's welfare. This fictionalized story of Jana, an eight-year-old Gypsy girl snatched from her parents and consigned to a life of orphanages and bleak foster homes, is based on a little-known chapter of Swiss history: From 1926 to 1972, the state-supported Pro Juventute, a children's aid foundation, forcibly removed some 700 Gypsy children from their families, in order to sever the ties with their culture and assimilate them to a "better way of life." The underlying aim was to preempt a new generation's caravans from following their nomadic traditions along Switzerland's country lanes.

Ida Kronenberg must transfer to a new school, where she soon realizes the students are unkind to each other. However, that all changes when a new teacher, Miss Cornfield, begins to educate them on the value of friendship and magic.
