A young college football coach is sent to rural Alabama to try and sign the nation's top high school defensive end and soon finds himself trying to outflank rival recruiters and win over the player's wildly dysfunctional family.

The story of a small sparrow who desperately tries to join the flock. His small size and weakness make him stand out and the group refuses to accept him. Through an allegorical representation of bird life, the film explores universal themes of loneliness and a sense of not belonging that are also very familiar to humans.
