Mum and Dad, and their 'adopted' children, Birdie & Elbie, work at the airport. The family live off whatever they scavenge from cargo holds, offices and hotels - including a steady stream of transient workers who populate the airport's soulless hub. When Lena, a young Polish office cleaner, is befriended by Birdie, she gets drawn into a nightmarish world of torture, murder and perversity.

Amy is taken on a impromptu camping trip by her Dad on her 15th Birthday. Along with her little brother, the endless summer turns into an inescapable future.

On the Bristol coast, in a town where nothing ever happens, teenager Naomi manipulates her friend Josh into following her. She leads to him to where she'll know Owen is, an older boy, her ex-boyfriend, and she wants to make him jealous. But her plan backfires and she loses both of the boys. Returning home Naomi slips into a elaborate fantasy - a dream of herself with Owen in the reeds by the water. Awaking from her daydream she knows what she must do - she's going to sneak into Owen's house and tell him something that will make him stay with her.

Meanwhile Danny is trying to tell a girl named Pippa that he likes her. On this Friday we follow Danny through miscommunication, gossip, Chinese whispers and a love triangle between Danny, Pippa and his best friend Greg.

Through intimate portraits, we begin to see what's really at threat when mass redevelopment encroaches. We ask 'how in this changing landscape can these peoples' sense of community, passion and values survive?' Acclaimed band 'The Maccabees' feature in the film and provide the score.
