A record of the ascent of the Jungfrau by Frederick Burlingham accompanied by four mountain guides. The film starts with panoramics of the Eiger North Face from Kleine Scheidegg. The party begin the climb from the Jungfraujoch Station crossing the Jungfrau Firn and reaching the summit of the Jungfrau by the steep Roththal Sattel. Frederick Burlingham was a traveller cinematographer and one of the mountain film pioneers. Continuing the mountain film tradition established by Ormiston-Smith, Burlingham filmed several mountaineering films largely in Switzerland, taking mountain film in a new direction of immediacy and perceived peril. In the early history of factual filmmaking, Burlingham played a substantial role in developing the related genres of the mountaineering and the exploration film.

She laughingly tells them she is not afraid, as she has her dog with her, who will be ample protection. During her stroll Betty finds a shack and decides to investigate.

Abandoned by her maidservant in an isolated country house, a mother must protect herself and her baby from an invading tramp while her husband races home in a stolen car to save them.

The film illustrates the oppression of Irish peasants under early English rule, highlighting trials and "accidental" deaths.

Jack and Dolly, his sister, live together in the west. On Jack's birthday, Dolly presents him with a peculiar ring. The brother and sister attend a masquerade ball that evening, each dressed in the other's clothes. Dolly, being taken for a man, meets Big Bill, a new ranchman, and he offers her a cigar, which she tries to smoke. Jack sees her in distress, and coming to her rescue, is introduced as the sister. The next morning Jack leaves to look over his stock. While riding through the sage brush, he takes a shot at a rabbit and the bullet lands near the spot where a cattle rustler is plying his unlawful trade. The cattle rustler and Jack meet. The former believes that Jack tried to kill him and a fight follows. Jack is killed.

Wandering minstrel Louis d’Angelo must flee his homeland to America after a duel over the hand of his beloved, Delicia. Finding hardship and deceit at first, he eventually also finds success. Because another suitor, Colonel Navarro, has been intercepting his letters Delicia fears Louis has forsaken her and journeys to America to discover the truth followed by her parents and Navarro. By chance all gather at the same restaurant and the lovers are reunited.

Two brothers live together in the Kentucky mountains. Wally, the younger, is a wood-cutter, while Phil is a cripple. The brothers receive word from a city physician that Phil can recover from his infirmity only by means of an operation which will cost $800. The amount, however, is far larger than they ever expect to own at one time. In the meantime, Nan Leslie, of the U.S. Revenue Service, is detailed to go into the mountain districts of Kentucky and get evidence against a gang of moonshiners.

The young doctor, spending most of his time in charity work, is particularly interested in the case of a poor mother who must send her child away for its health. This brings him into contact with the owner of the tenement and he endeavors to persuade him to improve conditions. He is refused. But, the owner's daughter has overheard this refusal and she determined to investigate the trouble herself.

A factory owner receives notice that his facility will be inspected for safety and compliance with fire codes the following day. Knowing his factory is not up to code, the owner attempts to bribe the inspector, who is engaged to the owner’s daughter Pauline. When the inspector refuses to be bribed the owner takes drastic action.

In the film, Cunard plays a jewel thief pursuing the same wealthy marks as another thief, played by Francis Ford.

When Dr. Carson marries Daphne Standing among the guests is her former suitor, Laurelton. The couple are happy but as Laurelton's jealousy grows, he gets drunk and decides to have his way with Daphne. He leaves an urgent phone message for Carson to hurry to his office because of an accident. Watching him depart Laurelton tries to enter the apartment but Daphne takes refuge in a locked room calling Carson who rushes home and finds Laurelton trying to break into his wife's room. They fight until the police intervene but when Carson opens her door Daphne, believing he is Laurelton, shoots him. His injury is minor, and the officers take Laurelton in charge.

Helen MacDermott, daughter of the Factor at Bear Lake, has been carefully and religiously brought up by her widowed father. Bob Brandt, a dashing young gambler and adventurer, stops at Bear Lake in his wanderings, and having occasion to visit the post to buy supplies, he becomes acquainted with Helen. She quickly surrenders to his charms.

Edna's husband is unfaithful to her and has been accustomed to going out with the other woman. She is about to become a mother and broods over her loneliness. She finds a woman's card in her husband's pocket and becomes suspicious. She watches his office, sees a woman enter, and follows her in. The husband is caught in a compromising position with the woman

The story concerns the reformation of a fast woman who runs a gambling establishment. Her one fear is of death and her regeneration is brought about.

One day, Harry, who also works at the mill and with whom Wally is living, is badly hurt. Wally in his working clothes goes to his father and explained how dangerous it is for any man to work in the mill.

A woman is deserted by her wealthy young lover.

With the frozen desert all about them, under the chill northern skies, a vast stretch of somber gray, they plighted their troth. And the girl, brave in her hope that his would be realized, had come with him. His goal was gold; and he took the trail. For days he searched it, and found only despair, then broke his leg. An old Indian found him, alone and suffering, and took him to his hut. For days he nursed the injured limb, and for weeks the wanderer loitered in the camp of the Indian. Never a word reached the girl. Then she received a letter from home, advising her that she had inherited a large fortune.
