Beatrice, a gynecologist seeking escape in Berlin’s club scene, and Alex, a defiant trans club manager juggling parenthood and protest, begin to fight for the right to their bodies and discover unexpected support in each other while facing difficulties of what is expected of them. Although they could not be more different, a close friendship develops between them, which soon ends up in a new understanding of what family means.

Transman and refugee struggles with bureaucratic barriers. His desire to learn German is denied as language courses are only available to recognized refugees. He keeps his trans identity a secret for fear of being discriminated against.The story is based on the real-life experiences of the director.

As different as their motivations and stories are, they have one thing in common: they have come to Europe with their luggage full of memories from times past and now have to find their way in exile.
