The film shows the apparently intact world of a middle class family, whose harmonious façade crumbles due to the unexpected visit of their relative Paul, a young man of 16 years. Paul arrives looking for love and support after the suicide of his father.

Namibia does not give that impression of it. If you look at its surface it seems like Africa in its most innocent and civilized form. It is a country that is so inviting to dream by its spectacular landscape, stunning scenery and fascinating wildlife. It has a very strong tourism structure and the government gets a lot of money with its magical attraction. But despite its grandiose splendor it is an endless gray zone as well. It oscillates between tradition and modernity, between the cattle in the country and the slums in the city. It shuttles from colonial times, land property reform to minimum wage for everyone. It fluctuates between socialism and cold calculated market economy.

Isabell Suba, ambitious up-and-coming director, has made it – one of her short films is in the line-up of the most important film festival of the world! When she arrives at the 65. Cannes film festival, she has face the accomplished facts: David, her incompetent producer, has kindly sublet their cosy joint apartment to other festival guests. The other bad news: There is not a single movie in the competition directed by a woman! This affirms Isabell’s qualms: The film business demands women to gear up instead of dressing up low cut! Moreover, the chauvinistic remarks of her comrade-in-arms David who feels comfortable around the clichéd gender stereotypes from the Stone Age seemingly prevalent in Cannes infuriate Isabell. As if this wasn’t enough already, a shattering feedback on her new film project by a potential investor finally causes her to doubt herself. Before she can live her dream up at the Olympus of film business, she must first find out who really believes in her.

Three Germans, Tinka, Natalie and Tim speed across the desolate Russian landscape in their jeep. They have done some good business and are jubilant. Suddenly, they are forced to stop at a road block.

Taking pot shots with an air rifle at a snail on the railway tracks isn’t really very funny. Dennis does laugh though, just the once. Being a teenager in a small town in Brandenburg isn’t easy. Somehow he’s always so serious and wound up, like a tight coil. His only friend is his big brother. When his older sibling is injured by another boy, Dennis is bent on revenge. It’s too bad that his opponent is a wrestling champ.

A stylized short documentary about the Reichstag building and its foreign cleaning staff. They mop endless corridors, remove dust from lampshades and clean countless windows. In voice-over, they talk about their work and the significance of the building. For example, one man enthusiastically cleans a text embedded in the floor, explaining that some of the letters are more difficult to clean than others - but without understanding the meaning of the text. Set in the center of German democracy, the film takes a philosophical approach to questions of politics and migration.

The film project under the working title of "Nightwalk" about the jazz music of the Afro-American Cassandra Wilson, was born of the idea to really create a fusion between music and pictures. The film team concentrate the contents of the film on the actual theme of the music, "Children of the night". This is not, however, a conventional plot rather an atmospheric series of pictures surrounding a figure who is wandering through the city streets at night.
