People go through life with forgotten dreams. They bravely contend another day when something goes off the rails. A man disappears into the woods. A season is lost. Lovers overcome time. Hardly noticeably, the rules of the world shift. And suddenly new paths open up in people's minds.

The Brunaupark buildings in Zurich are about to be demolished as their owner, the Crédit Suisse pension fund, wants to build a new property complex. Hundreds of tenants – the victims of this proposal – are contesting their eviction. Hergert and Zietlow paint a portrait of a lively and resilient neighbourhood forced to confront its destiny.

In a village in the Argentinian countryside, the inhabitants lead a life characterised by nature and routine. When a light appears to the elderly farmer Omar one night, he sets off with his grandson Noah on a journey in search of meaning.

In unspectacular everyday scenes we observe three groups, their dynamics and moods over the course of a day.

Two spirits encounter each other in a limbo – a place between the earthly and the beyond. The two spirits are still trapped in their human shells, but have already lost the ability to speak. They will only spend a few days in limbo, before a wandering light leads them to the next world.

Le Lignon: a long building with two towers, below it the Rhone River and its forest, habitat to many birds. Two microcosms that influence and inspire each other. From their windows, the inhabitants watch the woods. What do they see? The film shows the human need for closeness to the animals that surround us, and the ambivalent relationship between humans and nature.
