The film follows Mrinal Sen in his early days around the time of India’s independence, where he is a struggling idealist with an all-consuming hunger for cinema but unable to feed himself or his young wife, to 1950s Calcutta, where (alongside Satyajit Ray) he helped start the Indian New Wave cinema movement.

A young detective enthusiast follows in the footsteps of legendary Bengali sleuth Feluda when a decades-old mystery resurfaces during Durga Puja, testing his skills against a puzzle that once stumped his hero.

Brishti, still grieving her husband Neel's death, finds herself at odds with her sister-in-law Swapna, who is convinced their home is cursed. As Neel's death anniversary approaches, Swapna becomes obsessed with rituals to cleanse the house of dark forces, while Brishti dismisses her fears. But when eerie incidents escalate and Brishti's behaviour turns unsettling, the presence of a malevolent Pishach seems undeniable.
