A writer dying of AIDS searches for a cure and human interaction in the hospitals and sex clubs of Buenos Aires.

Pep Munné is an aging plastic surgeon who falls for a young female assistant (Mariana Anghileri) while attending a medical conference. Soon he begins inventing new reasons to spend more time with her. His wife Cristina (María Barranco) begins meeting with a psychiatrist (Jean Pierre Noher) in order to figure out what is going on in her marriage.

Two spinster twin sisters decide, after meeting a man in a ball that they will share him as a boyfriend. The only incovenience is that the man doesn't know he is dating two different women.

Unit 9 was the prison where the brutal military dictatorship held thousands of political prisoners, separating their leaders into two Death Rows, only to murder them without trial. Not only would the prisoners be murdered by the army, but their families as well. The struggle for life and dignity was renewed every day, and will, ingenuity, and humor were weapons of resistance.

Next to an abandoned train station there is a small town called Estación Cortez where el Rubio lives. In the midst of a country that is shipwrecked, the people of this town continue trying to escape despair. Where can this young man who was born on the other side of the road run to?

Fantasies, those states of mind that can be fleeting or eternal, are the central theme of the film. A man in his fifties, remarried to a younger and very beautiful woman, imagines for a long moment—the length of the film—a relationship between his wife and his 20-year-old son. Within the story—and the fantasy—there is a complex network of time periods that makes it impossible to separate reality from imagination.

It summarizes the encounter, at the end of 1999, between the bewildered Victoria and a man who has just arrived from Madrid to meet her on the last day of the millennium. The minimal dramatic substance of this situation acquires a singular character insofar as that man is her father: the girl is 27 years old and it is the first time she is going to see him.
