Using re-appropriated foreign archival footage, a poem takes shape like the waves of a sea, engaging in dialogue with the dead and the living. A cinematic spell is unleashed, delving into exile. Foreignness. Longing. What does it mean to be a grandson and a grandfather? To love from afar?

One can become involved in a subject to the point of no return. In a found-footage work using images from Amalia, the first Argentine fiction film from 1914, this short film explores a man’s obsession with a woman entangled in a political mystery during the fateful years of Rosas’ rule in Argentina.
