Ten-year-old Palkó has just moved home to Budapest from Berlin and observes the daily life of an ordinary Hungarian elementary school with confused amazement. Juci, the young teacher just started working there. She is the only one who understands Palkó, as in their own way, they are both suffering from the same, sometimes grotesque educational system.

A psychoanalyst, newly arrived in a very superstitious village, encounters absurd events.

Rita, an ordinary, but lonely woman is kidnapped. Her captors are the Árpáds; they claim she is not called Rita but Szilvi, a runaway from their family. Rita eventually understands that the only way out is in - to escape she must impersonate Szilvi. The more she becomes the lost girl the more she finds out about the family - and understands that her life is on the line.

Sándor, a widower, is the only witness to a serious accident involving his stepdaughter and youngest son. Now he faces a dilemma: should he tell the truth and live with the consequences? Or lie and save his son from juvenile detention?

An upbeat generational film, rich in both comedic and dramatic elements, and a twisted coming-of-age story set in a unique and unique environment. His young protagonist refuses to accept what society in an industrial town has to offer and expects of him, so he rebels by staying outside and finding his own way, pushing himself into ever steeper and more illegal situations.
