The brothers Ingemar and Gustav are enemies and have split the business in two. Gustav runs a chainsaw repair shop and Ingemar still runs his motel business and has hired the impossible carpenter Lufsen and Virena. A year has passed since Matilda Karlsson arranged a job in the city for her son Lennart and managed to persuade her late husband Nils-Erik to take care of the farm.
