Westphalia around 1900. Hermann-Josef starts his service in House Kummerveldt. After graduating from servant’s school with top grades, he wants only one thing: to serve properly. The less he can be smelled, heard or seen, the better: that’s the Baron’s housekeeper Miss Racket’s rule.

The mayor, in particular, is annoyed by her prophecies. He decides to have her chased out of the village. But a lovely young lady comes to the shepherdess's aid with her occult powers.
