Evershine

The movie is an adaptation of the 1960 French play of the same name and is considered to be a cult comedy classic in Malayalam. It was also one of the first commercial successes of the Mohanlal-Mukesh-Priyadarashan team. Shyam (Mohanlal) is a struggling journalist who gets an opportunity to be the caretaker of a flat in the city. Even while engaged to his childhood sweetheart Sreekutty (Menaka); he uses his charms and resourcefulness to make three air-hostesses (Lissie, Ashwini, Madhuri) fall in love with him. With the help of his maid (Sukumari) and friend (Raju) he carefully manages their schedule in the flat so that none of his girlfriends meet each other. Life is good for Shyam, till his former colleague and friend Anil (Mukesh) comes to visit him.

Verendran, a smuggler, kills Mohan, a coast guard officer, only to realise that Mohan's father Balu was a witness. When Verendran sets out to kill Balu, his grandson Anand comes to his rescue.

A businessman (Prathapachandran) gets murdered by his driver. His daughter Rekha (Urvashi) is married to Vinod (Suresh Gopi) who is more interested in taking over the business than taking care of his wife. Rekha's erstwhile boyfriend Ajith (Jayaram) who's now in the army is more sympathetic to her, but Vinod gets suspicious about their relationship.

After his retirement, Raghavan Nair (Thilakan) is back at his home. His long cherished dream to spend his retired life along with his family is thwarted after seeing his two sons brawling each other over their political differences.

Ramachandran (Mohanlal) got a job as an English lecturer in T. K. P. Memorial College, only to find that the college is full of drugs and politics, led by young Ranjith Mathews (Ganesh), son of an M.P. (Prathapachandran). Ramachandran has helped the students, including a geek who was beaten by Ranjith's gang.

Kalyana Krishnan (Mukesh) is part of an orthodox Brahmin family who still follow the caste system. He ends up marrying Nirmala (Annie), a Christian girl. To get the family's approval for the marriage, Nirmala masquerades as a Brahmin orphan. The film continues with the tricks & travails that they have to face owing to this.

Three bachelor roommates Unni Krishnan, Vinod and Boney spend time drinking and dating. Their brahmin neighbour complains about the noise. The lives of the three roommates change when they find an abandoned baby girl at their door step one day. When their attempt to find the baby's father fails, they decide to bring up the baby and name it Kingini.
