Three prostitutes live in the wasteland by the sea, where a village of outcasts has emerged. It is life in a harsh reality of poverty, ignorance, and violence. And the only ray of light in their lives is Arturo, whom they care for together. The young man is a weak-minded child in an adult body. Sergio Rossetti, a physical education teacher, is transferred to Remis, a small mountain village in which an unbreakable serenity reigns. He discovers that behind that golden equilibrium lies a disturbing ritual. One night a week the inhabitants of Remis are freed of their pain thanks to a teenager, Matteo Corbin: just hugging him is enough to feel better. In an attempt to save Matteo from the madness of his community, Sergio will unleash the dark side of what everyone calls the angel of Remis.
