Despite being his daughter, Rani is not allowed to acknowledge Muthiah as her father. She works in his office and falls in love with a co-worker, but Muthiah opposes their relationship.

After Mangala's husband is sent to prison on a false charge, she, being poor, is targeted by Jeeva who approaches her under the pretext of helping her, but wants sexual favours from her.

Jeeva decides to protect Kala Devi who joins a circus company after her father's death as she inherits enormous wealth and has a threat to her life.

Murugappa is a small time farm labourer living in a village with his widowed sister, Gangamma. He often questions the landlord's authority which results in frequent clashes with him and his family.

Alcoholic womanizer Shyam meets with Shanti and gets married to her. On their wedding night, a friend of Shyam's lures Shanti away on the pretext that Shyam is hospitalized due to an accident, and takes her to a brothel, and attempts to force himself upon her. The police raid the place, and Shanti is arrested for prostitution.

Karthavarayuni Katha (transl. Story of Karthavaraya) is a 1958 Indian Telugu-language Hindu mythological film, produced and directed by T. R. Ramanna under the R. R. Pictures banner. It stars N. T. Rama Rao and Savitri, with music composed by G. Ramanadhan and Ashwathama. The film was simultaneously made as the Tamil movie Kathavarayan (1958) by the same banner and director.
