Mykola is an eccentric pacifist who wants to be useful to humanity. When the war begins in Donbas, Mykola’s naive world is collapsing as the militants kill his pregnant wife and burn his home to the ground. Recovered, he makes a cardinal decision and gets enlisted in a sniper company. Having met his wife’s killers, he emotionally breaks down and arranges “sniper terror” for the enemy.

This is a metaphorical story about the tragic and mysterious death of the most powerful poet of 1960s, human rights activist, hero of Ukraine Vasyl Stus and his struggle with the Soviet system. The events of the film unfold during the last attempt by the KGB to seduce the poet with a whimsical "freedom".

Two warriors of the guerrilla movements, the one from the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA) and the other from the Polish Home Army (AK), narrate on the atrocities of German and Soviet occupation in 1939-1946, argue about the mutual harms of the past, and reveal what made them unite after all they've been through.

During 1944-1946, more than 480,000 Ukrainians had been forced to leave the territory of modern northeastern Poland— Kholmshchyna, Nadsiannia, Pidliashshia, and Lemkivshchyna. The eyewitness tells the story of deportation and recalls terrible conditions in which she and other Ukrainians were taken from Poland to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.

Vasyl Stus dreamed of engaging in literature, not politics; to be a famous poet, not a dissident. But the Soviet special services and the CPSU pushed him to a point of no return. How did such a transformation take place? What was "Yours Vasyl" really like?
