Filmed shortly before the outbreak of World War II, Żołnierz Królowej Madagaskaru is the only Polish film allowed by German occupiers to be completed. Its last known surviving copy was destroyed in the late 1940s. In 1958, Zarzycki remade the film in color under the same title.

In the early inscriptions, this film is presented as a “lyrical bounce from reality” but not “senseless extravagance.” The plot involves a trek official to the advice of “There will be a hole in the sky even if you go back”, the procession of two people with a wardrobe and a march of people defending the established rules (“Down with walking backwards”). The formal aspect in the movie is a lot of trick shots using a mirror, photographs and negatives.

A look at show-business through the lives of cabaret dancing girls Teresa and Linka. When their theatre is closed down, they have to move to a small town. But it turns out that one of them is pregnant and the baby's father is her ex-boss.

Polish feature film from 1939 , directed by Wanda Jakubowska with a screenplay by Jarosław Iwaszkiewicz , based on the novel by Eliza Orzeszkowa of the same title. The film was lost during World War II.
