A docu-thriller that sets out to uncover the details surrounding the life, brief career, and mysterious death of horror filmmaker Karl Atticus, referred to by some as the forgotten father of the "slasher movie." The film includes interviews with various horror historians and aficionados including Eduardo Sanchez (director of The Blair Witch Project), who posits the question: Why, for 40 years, has the story of Karl Atticus been all but eradicated from the annals of cinema history?

Shawn seeks help from his college roommates, Aidan and Desmond, to search for his missing older brother Eric, who vanished while camping. As they delve deeper into their investigation, they discover the scary stories heard around town are based on true events.

THEY ARE HERE begins with friends Bryan and Jason as they aim to film a pilot for a reality television show they envision, following a strange and quirky young man named Damian. Damian believes there is something sinister happening in and around a local small town and he is dedicated to uncover the truth behind the recent strange, UFO sightings in the area. Their journey eventually leads them to a small ranch; the hotbed of alien activity. Soon, they discover the danger exists closer to home.
