He was a pop star of his time: with his paintings, copperplate engravings and woodcuts, Albrecht Dürer is one of the most important artists of the Renaissance. An obsessive, hedonist, visionary, networker and self-promoter, an eternal doubter and admonisher, a lover and seeker, in short: a modern man who was far ahead of his time. In a sensitive blend of fiction and documentary, the film Dürer tells of the life of the eccentric artist and of the stories behind his famous works.

Few artist portraits give us the privilege of getting as close to the painter as if we had free access to his studio. Over a period of three years, Pepe Danquart got to accompany the painter Daniel Richter, watching him paint, negotiate with his gallerist, talk to his publisher and joke with fellow artist Jonathan Meese. Danquart interviews collectors, attends auctions and even visits record shops.

The train carriages in "Miniatur Wunderland" wind their way for kilometers through blooming landscapes and rocky mountain gorges. With the creation of this magical model universe, twin brothers Frederik and Gerrit Braun have fulfilled their childhood dream of building the largest model railroad in the world. Opened in 2001 in Hamburg's Speicherstadt warehouse district, the exhibition now stretches from the Elbphilharmonie concert hall to Antarctica and is one of the biggest crowd pullers in Europe, attracting more than 1.5 million visitors a year. This film now brings this fabulous dream world to the big screen for the first time with elaborate Cinemascope footage as a documentary event.

The US space agency NASA has built a space probe to investigate the causes of these mysterious storm phenomena.
