Young Prince Nechljudov is summoned as a judge in a murder trial. A rich merchant was found dead in the room of the inn where he was staying and the prostitute Maslova was accused of the crime. Nechljudov recognizes in the woman the maid of the aunts he had seduced and abandoned years before and tries to convince the authorities of her of his innocence but to no avail. Convinced that he is responsible for her moral fall, he follows her to Siberia where she must serve her sentence.

Droste, a mild-mannered businessman, was an intelligence expert during World War II. When Droste runs into his old friend Baron Von Straub, the two rekindle a friendship that was interrupted by the war. However, when Von Straub asks Droste to deliver a small package to a friend in West Germany, the befuddled Droste is set up for a series of complicated spy games.

Love story between a fisherman of the Adriatic coast and a young girl of the village.

The unsuccessful composer Daniel Mogge meets the photographer Eva through his runaway dog Blasius. He falls in love with her and a romance begins between the two. The envious neighbor Grusius, who is feverishly waiting for submissions for musical works, finds them through the open window: Mogge composes and Grusius steals. When Mogge hears his piece on the radio, the events come thick and fast.

King Frederick II and his leading advisors hesitate too long in the eyes of some officers, so Major von Schill decides to strike out on his own. The sawmill owner Ramin disappears from one day to the next. Concerned, his family learns from the bank that he wrote a check to an agent named Frisch. He supposedly wanted to use it to buy a good. However, that did not happen. When Ramin's body is found, the police stumble upon Ursula von Tweel, who knew the dead man.

Father Brown is only too happy to interfere with the work of the police in solving tricky criminal cases, usually with resounding success. That's why the clergyman is transferred to a sleepy island called Abbott's Rock. At first, nothing happens there, but somehow Father Brown seems to be attracted to crime: Soon a gang of thieves is up to no good on the island. He is, at the end of the 1900′s, a noted advocate of the establishment of a German colony. Without support from Germany, he struggles on his own account against the English in East Africa. Later he is named Reichskommissar and promotes the expansion of a German colony. But Jewish and Social-Democrat opponents order him back to Germany and force him to resign.

Catherine Miller's triumph at the Casino de Paris leads fashionable playwright Alexandre Gordi to ask her to create his next play. Flattered, Catherine moves into Gordi's villa near Cannes, escorted by her entire family. Only Jacques Merval, Gordi's secretary, disagrees. This is understandable, as it is he who writes the plays that Gordi, rather tired, simply signs. Jacques is a one-man band in every sense of the word, allying himself with the Casino manager to bring Catherine back to her music-hall successes. Despite a few clouds, and thanks to Gordi's generous intervention, he succeeds. Wasn't his only thought the happiness of the woman he loves?

Circus performer Tonio Tonelli discovers his wife Maja having an affair with his colleague Tino. Tonio goes away, and slowly rebuilds his career before meeting tightrope walker Nelly. The two become a popular sensation, which leads his estranged wife to try and force him back into a partnership with her through blackmail. When she is found dead, Tonio is the obvious suspect for her murder.

Father Brown starts solving crimes, much to the annoyance of his housekeeper, the police and especially his bishop, who is not amused by a priest playing detective.

Maria Pretorius is the leader of a counseling office in a large factory. She is completely engrossed by her career and so gives the cold shoulder to her colleague Wallrodt, who wants to marry her. Only the young Manfred Thiele is successful in winning her sympathy through his perseverence. That, however, pisses off Lyda Lehmann, who has long had the hots for him.

The film portrays the interaction of Johann Friedrich Struensee, a doctor treating the mentally ill Christian VII of Denmark, and his English consort Caroline Matilda.

Marion Austerlitz is a stubborn person, much to the chagrin of her husband, Dr. Fritz Austerlitz. There's constantly some kind of excitement going on in their house: this time, Marion takes in a barking dog, much against the wishes of her husband; that time she's harrasses the old servant; then countless traffic tickets from the police come in the mail; or high bills for extravagant huts are delivered by the mailman. Finally, Fritz blows a fuse. In the presence of his friend, Professor Endres, and Marion's mother, a big fight breaks out between the couple.

Vienna during the fin de siecle. Farmer's daughter Anuschka has to sell the farm after her father's death to the rich but mean farmer's wife Nowarek and her friendly son Jaro. Anuschka goes to Vienna and starts to work as a housemaid until she is wrongly accused of theft.

Policeman Haller becomes a fire policeman in Munich, in order to find back his fiancée Hilde. After a while, he really finds her, but she is still jealous because of a dancer Haller flirted with. Also, Haller suspects Wiedemann to be a competitor in his fight for Hilde's heart. Suddenly, Haller finds out that Wiedemann is a criminal and plans to rob the safe of the chemistry lab Hilde is working in. Haller wants to bust Wiedemann alone, but some things happen that make it all much more complicated.

In this intricately plotted crime comedy, Johannes Heesters plays the worldly insurance detective Peter Holm, who is determined to apprehend jewel thief Robert Makaroff. To this end, Holm travels to Copenhagen, where the Hungarian actress Lilly Hegedüsch is staying at a luxury hotel with her rare jewelry. While Holm is searching for Makaroff, Jenny, the sleuthing daughter of Holm's boss, arrives in Copenhagen. Since Jenny doesn't know her secret admirer Holm, numerous mix-ups and suspicions ensue before the rival detectives become lovers.
