Poste Restante

Márta, a 40-year-old neurosurgeon, falls in love. She leaves her shining American career behind and returns to Budapest to start a new life with the man she loves. But she waits for him at the Liberty Bridge in vain - he does not appear at their rendezvous. Márta starts to search for him desperately, but when she finally finds him, the love of her life claims that they have never met before.

Margot, a brilliant young scientist with a troubled marriage, disappears inexplicably while hiking with her husband Sam and a group of friends. A few weeks later, she miraculously reappears the day of her own memorial service. Margot is clearly not the same as before the accident. Nevertheless, Sam sees his wife’s miraculous reappearance as a second chance.

Klára moves out from her husband. Her friend, Ági, helps her. They make a total of seven turns by car. Although they take the same route there and back every time, each round is different. “January 2” is a realist story about a separation from the wife’s perspective with all the challenges she faces following this tough decision.
