The Force Is with Them: The Legacy of Star Wars is a Video Documentary included in the 2004 DVD of the Star Wars Original Trilogy. It explained the impact of "Star Wars" on various directors and actors.

Protected by the legendary Jedi Order, the Galactic Republic stood as a bastion of peace in the galaxy for a thousand generations. Several centuries ago, the greatest threat the galaxy has ever known emerged in the form of the dark Sith Empire. After a volatile war, the Republic emerged victorious and the Sith were assumed to be extinct. Nonetheless, the Jedi have maintained a constant vigil over the ancient Sith homeworld, to protect the galaxy from the darkness that still resides in the planet's tombs.

Republic leaders have traveled to Alderaan to engage in promised peace talks with the Sith Empire. The most powerful Jedi have accompanied them to safeguard against an Imperial deception. The Empires real motive, however, was simply to lure the Republics strongest defenders away from Coruscant and set the stage for an audacious attack. Under the command of Lord Angral, the Sith fleet approaches the Republics capital planet for the first time in centuries. In advance of the fleet, the strongest Sith Warriors have flown a stolen Republic ship into Coruscants orbit. The Battle of Alderaan. The Republic's gravest hour. Recently promoted to Darth, Malgus launches the first of many surprise attacks that would become his trademark during the Great War, perfectly timing the assault with a feint that pulls the Republic fleet light-years away. Thousands of assault droids and hundreds of Sith set the heart of the Republic ablaze, and Alderaan's few defenders are swept away with ease. Unknown to Darth Malgus, small groups of Republic Troopers are stationed on Alderaan, some recovering from wounds, others are awaiting orders. As these brave soldiers take to the forests and mountains to fight a guerilla campaign against Malgus's forces, the Republic fleet rushes back to repel the invasion. With time running out and Alderaan's capitol threatened, it falls to Havoc Squad, the elite Republic Special Forces unit, to coordinate one last desperate stand against Malgus' vastly superior numbers.

Vaylin is the daughter of Senya Tirall and the Emperor Valkorian, and being so, she grew up watching her brothers Arcann and Thexan train in combat. She longed for the same excitement and physical tenure as they had, the ability to defend oneself and to hone the Force. Years later, Vaylin begins this same training. One day, she is knocked down as Senya tells them to begin again. The lead training Knight charges her, but Vaylin uses the Force to suspend him and the others in the air. She concentrates, and in a moment of frustration, causes the Knight's armor to crack. Valkorian witnessed the entire ordeal, and takes Vaylin to an asylum on Nathema, where he plans to have the Nathema Zealots restrain her powers so that she will not surpass his own. Vaylin is locked away for years, but after Senya has a vision of Vaylin's suffering, she secretly travels to Nathema to rescue her daughter. The only question is, is it too late to be saved? Or does Vaylin already feel betrayed?

Years before the Galactic War, Emperor Valkorion of the Eternal Empire looks without any visible emotion as his twin sons grow into men - and projectors of the Force. With the army of the Eternal Empire ready to commence attacks on both the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire years later, Arcann and Thexan, now skilled lightsaber combatants, lead an assault on the Sith holy world of Korriban, where the Twi'lek female Sith Darth Atroxa coordinates the defending forces. Arcann suffers grievous injuries in the fight, including the loss of his left arm, and when the twin princes arrive at Valkorion's throne room, presenting lightsabers of the defeated Republic and Sith forces as trophies to the Emperor, he once again shows no emotion and indifferently turns away from the brothers. This enrages Arcann to the point of wanting to murder his own father.
