A young photographer wanders the city taking pictures with a Polaroid 600, but on each print the silhouette of a woman on a bicycle appears. The sequence of photos makes it clear that the woman is about to be hit by a trolleybus. Based loosely on Stephen King's novella "The Sun Dog" and Julio Cortázar's short story "Blow-Up" ("Las babas del diablo").

Carved to the beat verses of Allen Ginsberg and his eponymous poem, A Supermarket in California paints the most surreal contours of an America watched, dreamed, filtered through the eyes of a poet who meets Walt Whitman in a supermarket and pines for a world that may not exist.

Viktor spends his free time trawling bars with ladies of questionable repute, from where he is picked up by a wife he doesn’t love, the mother of a child they never planned. Viktor himself was abandoned by his own father, his mother then committed suicide, and he was left to grow up in an orphanage. Years later, his errant dad returns, now a disabled felon, and Viktor discovers a timely legacy is in the offing – his father’s apartment. The documentation for securing dad’s move into an old people’s home is signed in a flash. Nevertheless, the only one that can take him is miles away and, what’s more, the invalid starts to recuperate during the journey, which is when their real problems begin.

Agree, it is unpleasant when you are not noticed: pushed on the street, ignored in the theater, looked through. As if on purpose! And the pretty girl Elizaveta lives like this for as long as she can remember. Until one day she gets a magic yellow cloak from an unusual studio. Now Liza is finally visible to everyone, but is this really what she wanted?
