For years, the dairy farmer Klara has tried to keep the court of her deceased parents. But the business is running badly, a sale of the farm seems inevitable. If necessary, Klara asks her sister Mika for help. She lives as a successful gallery owner in the posh Düsseldorf and hopes to finally move her sister to a new beginning in the city. Very quickly, however, shows that the down-to-earth Klara and her sister Mika have very opposite ideas of a fulfilled life. With heart and humor, Olaf Kreinsen's clever comedy tells of the conflicts of an unequal sibling duo.

Set in present-day Reykjavík, Fiasco draws a narrative circle of interconnecting stories in which three members of the Bardal household deal with the secret loves in their lives. Karl, an old age pensioner, is busy chasing after an amnesic old screen legend. Julia, Karl's granddaughter, is torn between a mediocre bank manager and a wild sailor, and tells them both she is pregnant. But is she really? Steingerdur, Julia's mother, has a wild crush on a preacher who has a serious drinking problem, and ends up with a dead stripper in his Jacuzzi. The characters cross each other as the film progresses, until the three interwoven strands of the story finally come together in an explosive and hilarious crescendo full of surprises.

After a series of career setbacks, a young man tries his hand at working as a sexworker, only to discover that this job has its own set of challenges. When he falls in love with a college student, making a living becomes even harder for him, because at first he doesn’t realize that the woman he loves works in the same line of business.

Interior designer Kim Joosten is like many modern women: self-confident, successful and always concerned about her appearance. When she saves a child's life at a barbecue, she suffers severe burns and is disfigured by a large facial scar. However, representation and good looks are a must in her job, in which she is now increasingly marginalized. When she also discovers that her husband Max is having an affair, Kim no longer knows what to do.
