A hundred years of images researched and found, Fragments of film, family reels, pixels. A martyr saint, a warrior. Saint Efisio, an icon who moves the people. A holiday, a rite which repeats outside of time and brings with it the masks of dominations past and present, of an island; Sardinia. What escapes? What remains? Question and answer is the foundation of editing And renews the past in another past. In this encounter of deferred glances, the holy day is renewed again in memory and in dream, far from known places.

A diary film built from home movies shot by a father in Sardinia during the 1950s and ’60s, capturing playful and affectionate family moments before his early death. Paired with Kafka’s “Letter to His Father,” the film reflects on absence, memory, and the filmmaker’s own father, exploring how those lost continue to live through the images we watch.

A family with no identity dreams of appropriating the memories of the other ... but who dreams who?

"He and I" narrates the reflections of a woman in her role as wife and mother lived between imposition and choice. Through the editing of the shootings of a single filmmaker who portrays his wife and life, the woman narrates herself being in opposition to her husband’s world, a militant always far from home. A reworking of female status as a political act to tell that love is an act of acceptance of differences and that personal memories are part of the collective history.

A collective archive film, made with the contribution of unpublished images from some of the main archives of different territorial origins, between Lazio, Piedmont, Liguria, Lombardy and Emilia Romagna. A journey through time and space: through small cameras, partisans, soldiers, priests and "ordinary citizens" felt the need to document for future memory - and, in some cases, at their own risk - History "as it happens", but also the long waits and daily life that intersect with the events of the two-year period 1943-45. And then the Liberation: the arrival of the Allies, the joy, the dances and finally it's time to get married.
