What happens when “old” and “new work” collide? Barbara Lucke was the grand dame of the works council at Sander Versandhaus for decades. Now, after 30 years, she is unexpectedly voted out of office, loses her leave of absence and has to return to her old job as a former clerk shortly before retirement - in the department of her son Bastian, of all places, who as an up-and-coming department head wants and needs to impress with modern leadership.

It's a hot, dry summer in Klein-Schappleben. Micha, a pretentious video game designer, wants to turn his late parents' dilapidated guesthouse into a luxury hotel with a wellness oasis. The villagers are skeptical, even though Micha loudly promises new jobs and prosperity. But his plans start to falter when the groundwater in the village dries up.

Summer 1990, Germany in the celebratory frenzy of reunification: In Brandenburg, Andy's youth clique uses the title win at the World Cup for an exuberant party at the lake: alcohol, drugs - movie break! What happened that night takes on a new meaning 30 years later.

Oliver Knöbel, who likes to dress in drag and is bullied and even physically attacked for it in his hometown in the provinces, manages to establish himself as a drag queen, entertainer and caterer in St. Pauli with humor and perseverance.
