A couple since high school, Charlotte and Adam have just had their first child. But they're not happy, and habits are gradually replacing enthusiasm, to the point of driving them apart... Hoping to recapture the momentum of their early days, they decide to become guinea pigs in a revolutionary treatment designed to strengthen their bond and desire.

Like every summer, little Salomé returns to her family village nestled in the Portuguese mountains for the holidays. As the vacations begin in a carefree atmosphere, her beloved grandmother suddenly dies. While the adults are tearing each other apart over the funeral, Salomé is haunted by the spirit of the one who was considered a witch.

Laurent is a thirty year old dreamer. The day he gets dumped by his girlfriend, he has to go back to his parents and discovers he has testicle cancer. His whole vision of life and priorities are then going to change.

Duarte, a visually impaired fifty-year-old, sets out to look for Leandro, his Cape Verdean friend. Despite the heat of a Lisbon summer, Duarte wanders through the streets of his neighborhood, but no one seems to have seen or to have even known Leandro. Duarte's investigation will lead him deep into the night, and will ultimately reveal his secret.

Eight-year-old Selena wakes up from a strange dream. She searches in a wooden trunk and finds her Snow White disguise. She is bored to death with her cousin in their vacation home in Portugal. While their older cousin tans in the garden, they sneak up and steal a donkey to go swimming at the dam. When they stop at a cemetery on the way, Selena sees the silhouette of an old lady in black, just like in her dream. She gets scared and then runs away, alone in the forest.
