A theater troupe reunites in excitement for a new production after having been out of work for a long time, with the performers and their mentor having gone their separate ways to make ends meet. But the bitter fallout from the failed romance between the lead actor and the lead actress—a romance as long ago as her famously beautiful hair—threatens the play's success.

Amidst the forest of Trường Sơn mountains, Thảo and four other girls are assigned to guard a major supply depot on the Ho Chi Minh Trail. As the war progresses and their health deteriorates, the girls begin to suffer from hysteric episodes where they become manic and laugh uncontrollably.

Tai, a soldier in South Vietnam, had 2 wives living in 2 different places. When the war ended in 1975, he brought his second wife and her child to a new land which was littered with mines and bombs leftover from the war. Tai earned his living by removing the mines from the land and collecting the scrap metal.

She was raised by her stepmother, for her real mother left her when she was little. One day, her stepmother dies in an accident, and she begins to track down her birth mother. But her journey turns out to disclose an unsealed sentimental drama of the family in the past.
