Amaia has just become a mother, and the challenge is even more significant than she imagined. So when her partner has to leave for several weeks because of his job, she decides to spend time with her parents in a lovely coastal village in the Basque Country and hopefully share the responsibility of looking after her baby. However, she forgot that even when one becomes a parent, one never stops being a daughter.

La Cañada Real, on the outskirts of Madrid, is one of the largest illegal shanty towns in Europe. Tonino, a 15-year-old Roma boy, has always lived here with his family. With his best friend Bilal, they film the world around them using a mobile phone, inspired by the gypsy legends he hears at home. But everything falls apart when a notice of imminent eviction arrives at his home and he discovers that his best friend is leaving La Cañada for good. Tonino finds himself torn between the dream of a new life and his attachment to his family and roots.

Juan and Gonzalo are journalists and long-time friends. They both enjoy a good position at the newspaper, but the ‘midday demon’ (or mid-life crisis) lurks. Especially today, when they come from a funeral where they have had to say goodbye to a former colleague.
