This is a secret diary of summer. The entire film is directly animated on time-stamped film, and the improvised painting traces are infinitely magnified through projection and scanning. Summertime collects the emotions that belong to each person’s unique taste and ferments them into small universes, and will eventually disappear with the touch of greenness at the last moment of summer.

When you can do anything you want, in one's living room, one's bedroom, a pub, a classroom, a serious meeting place, what do you do? The current environment is suffocating, with no way to release the pressure that has built up. What should people be like? What kind of mood should we live in? If you don't want to do anything, will you fall into nothingness, and are those solemn and standardized forms reasonable? Until we get the answer, let's release it first.

Pan Tianshou was a Chinese painter and art educator in the 1960s. He studied Chinese traditional painting and built the foundation of Chinese traditional painting education. He was persecuted during the Cultural Revolution until his death in 1971.
