Grigory, born into an oligarch family, is so spoiled that he believes he's above the law. When he faces jail, his father decides to 'rehabilitate' his son. An abandoned village is reconstructed, 19th century style. Grigory 'goes back in time', reincarnated as a serf, to learn how to appreciate life and to work hard.

The old man refuses to leave his native village, abandoned by other residents long time ago. To stand up to the local authorities, who have their own plans for the beautiful mountain land, he lures by deceit his son and grandchildren from Moscow – they must help him turn the village into an eco-touristic place. The family members get a chance to reconnect with their roots, see each other in a new light, and become a close, loving family.

Old Oleg Batorov is quietly living out his life in the Far Eastern wilderness, when suddenly his granddaughter Vera comes to him in the company of her boyfriend Kolya. Sarcastic and brash, he becomes the embodiment of an inner voice and the former athlete's constant companion. It is he who pushes Zhenya to pull off a scam just like in the cartoon. The plan seems flawless: kidnap Titorenko's daughter and then heroically "rescue" her in order to get his job back and restore his relationship with his family.

When he meets a pampered young socialite named Katya, he is abhorred by her insolent escapades. Grigory transports Katya “back in time” to teach her a valuable lesson about humility.

The sought-after and spoiled actor Slava loses everything at once - contracts, popularity, good relations with his family. However, the protagonist does not give up and, together with his agent, comes up with a dangerous adventure - to bury himself alive in order to resurrect his career and start from scratch.
