When art collector, Anton Remianiuk, and a literature graduate, Ana Morel, seek to recover a lost manuscript, they are confronted with the dangerous secrets of Paraguay and its dark silent past.

The story revolves around Joao, a boy from a jungle village, who must brutally become a soldier when Estanislao, a psychically altered commander, takes away his childhood and shows him just how far human cruelty can go.

Nina is a young woman of 20 years old who lives in Asunción in 1947 in the middle of the Paraguayan Civil War.
