A retired singer from northern Sudan, Mona, burdened by guilt for covering up a man's death, hires his southern widow, Julia, as her maid. Unable to confess her role in the tragedy, she hopes to move forward, but the country's growing unrest threatens to reveal her secret.

The film's events take place in the city of Tanta, specifically in a women's hairdresser's shop, and through a murder or something similar, the heroes' relationships with each other are revealed.

Set over the course of 48 hours, the story follows Daye, a young man traveling across Egypt's governorates to fulfill his dream. He is accompanied by his captivating voice, his broken family, and his music teacher. He is traveling without money, a car, or any means of communication, and most importantly, he is unsure of his ability to reach his goal.

The film's events revolve around a group of people who find themselves passengers on a mysterious bus driven by Satan, and each of these characters represents one of the seven deadly sins, making the film a symbolic reflection of the internal conflicts that each of us experiences.

A lot has changed in today’s Iraq. The street where cinema theaters were is now a market that sells military uniforms. It is crowded with young men, fitting military shirts and shoes. The quest for “Papillon” becomes the quest of character, who does not want to acknowledge the transformations of his city, and who wants to cling on to its luminous past through the light of cinema and his inner world.

Hind is a young karate athlete with a hearing disability. One day, after she is subjected to abusive behaviour at the training centre, her world becomes distorted. Hind must find a way to reclaim her power.
